Premier Veterinary Group in Chicago is looking for a Veterinary Sterile Processing Technician  to join our outstanding team!

This is an entry level position and a great opportunity to join our team of caring and compassionate professionals.

Schedule and Compensation:
  • Tuesday through Friday
  • 4 nine hour shifts per week
  • Start time is flexible, either 9a or 11a
  • $19-23 per hour, dependent on experience and certification

The Veterinary Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for the cleaning, sterilization, set-up and break-down of all surgical instruments, equipment, and operating rooms. This position is vital in maintaining sterile conditions for all surgeries performed within our specialty hospital.

As an important player within our hospital environment we are looking for someone to embody our culture in treating every client with the utmost courteous and attentive treatment possible, with a keen sensitivity to the emotional bond between owners and their pets.

Responsibilities:

  • Prep surgical suites for upcoming surgeries
  • Clean surgical suites daily and after surgical procedures
  • Clean surgical instruments
  • Prepare surgical packs for sterilization
  • Properly set up and run sterilization equipment (gas and steam)
  • Proper stocking of surgical suites including pack area

Qualifications:

  • A strong desire to learn and apply knowledge/skills learned to daily work life
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn our hospital information system
  • Ability to lift 50lbs with or without accommodation
  • High School Diploma and 1 or more years of related job experience
